Online noise removers have to receive your file to clean it. That’s fine for some audio. It’s a different decision for a client interview, a doctor’s appointment, a lecture you recorded with permission, or a voice memo from a family member.
Wavli does all its processing on your iPhone. Noise removal uses RNNoise, an open-source noise suppressor that runs on the device, and nothing is uploaded to a server for cleaning.
Wavli uses the internet for a few things that aren’t your audio: checking for app updates, handling purchases, and app analytics.
Because the work happens on the device, how fast a file is cleaned depends on your iPhone and the length of the recording, not on your upload speed.
Your cleaned file goes only where you send it: the share sheet, the Files app, or, for videos, Photos. Wavli can only add new videos to Photos; it can’t change or delete what’s already in your library. Picking a video with “Video from Photos” doesn’t give Wavli access to the rest of your library.
You also don’t need an account to use Wavli.
